Tricones
Tricones for HDD
We supply Terelion (formerly Varel) Target bits that are specially designed to deliver the best performance in an HDD setting. Whether you are working with a mud motor or with an all terrain style rig these bits give you the best performance while reducing wear in an HDD setting. They have taken oilfield technology and enhanced the design to suit the extra wear issues faced in an HDD setting.
The Terelion Target bit has patented shirttail protection, tungsten plates embedded in the leading edge of the shirttail. This is a far higher quality level of protection when compared to standard hardfacing. Secondly there is an enormous spread of TCI buttons on the remaining shirttail.
Tricones for waterwell / rotary
We stock a fantastic range of tricones - available in steel tooth and TCI in all the common sizes and regularly deal with less common sizes whether big or small.
They feature sealed roller bearings, shirttail hard facing and TCI inserts on the shoulder for a long life in tough conditions.
Our Blick Bits are manufactured in China and proven in New Zealand conditions. These bits work harder than you do.
We also supply new Terelion bits, and ex-oilfield rerun tricones for all applications.
Tricones for oil & gas / geothermal
We bring in to order higher spec tricones to suit oil & gas and geothermal applications. We can provide Terelion (previously Varel) as well as higher spec Chinese bits which have enhanced sealed roller bearings, greater shirttail hard facing and more TCI inserts on the shoulder.
PDCs and Bits
PDC bits for HDD
We stock PDC bits designed to suit mud motor and all terrain style rigs. These bits shear instead of grinding and crushing so can provide faster penetration rates and be less inclined to wear unexpectedly compared to a tricone.
The wear is mostly on the PDC cutters. Because there are no bearings there is less to damage. When used in competent ground this can significantly increase penetration rates.
PDC bits for waterwell/rotary
Our Blick PDC’s are manufactured in China to exacting standards, and provide great value in a fast cutting, long lasting package. A deep wing design is reinforced with hard facing, and large PDC inserts to reduce wear. Precisely aligned PDC cutters ensure rapid and straight progress.
Our great range of PDC’s in stock covers all the common sizes, with larger or unusual requirements (such as reaming PDC’s) available on request.
Drag bits
We supply quality 3-wing and 4-wing stepped drag bits with tungsten carbide inserts for soft formations. These range from 2 15/16" (75mm) to 26" (660mm).
Generally the 3-wing bits tend to drill faster, where the 4-wing bits are longer lasting, more durable, and drill a straighter hole.
We also supply chevron drag bits, which are recommended for drilling in slightly harder and more consolidated materials; such as hard shales, limestones, and tougher gravels.
All drag bits can be customised to your requirements.
