Carry Max

Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) maximises carrying capacity: fluid when moving, quickly solidifies when still, and easily transitions between gel and fluid states.

APPLICATIONS

Carry Max is a high-performance mixed-metal oxide (MMO) viscosifier designed for improved drilling fluid performance. It is highly thixotropic, ensuring excellent hole cleaning, suspension, and stability. The Carry Max system has strong shear-thinning properties, low plastic viscosity, high Yield Point, and stable, non-progressive gel strengths. Carry Max is ideal for maintaining wellbore stability, reducing erosion, and effectively sealing fractures in challenging formations.

Carry Max effectively suspends solids and prevents cuttings’ beds, making it suitable for HDD.

SPECIFICATIONS
Physical Appearance: White to off-white powder

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
pH must be between 10.5 and 11.5 to have the MMO work to the best effect.

Typical concentrations relate to ratios between bentonite and Carry Max. Maintaining a ratio of 10:1 (such as 25kg MaxGel to 2.5kg Carry Max) provides the best effectiveness.

Add 2.3 – 4 kg/m³ of Carry Max to a 23 – 40 kg/m³ prehydrated MaxGel mix at 10:1.

TOXICITY AND HANDLING
Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions described in the Saftey Data Sheet (SDS).

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Stored in 11.3kg pails.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletising, banding, shrink-wrapping and stacking.
