Loss Swell

Lost circulation material — seals permeable zones and prevents fluid loss to the formation.

Loss Swell is a granular lost circulation material (LCM) that swells on contact with water to seal fractures, voids, and highly permeable zones in the formation. It bridges gaps that bentonite filter cake alone cannot seal.

Used when drilling encounters unexpected fluid losses — a common challenge in fractured rock, gravel beds, and karst formations. Loss Swell can be added directly to the active system to quickly restore circulation.

Key Benefits

  • Seals fractures and permeable zones
  • Swells on contact with water
  • Quick restoration of lost circulation
  • Effective in fractured rock and gravel
